Terms of Service

Last Updated: September 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Sable Beach Automation Platform ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. This Platform is an internal tool operated exclusively by Sable Beach Surf Camp staff to automate content publishing on Pinterest.

2. Platform Purpose

The Platform is designed solely to facilitate authorized, automated posting of Sable Beach Surf Camp's own content to its official Pinterest account. It is not a public service and is restricted to authorized personnel only.

3. Pinterest API Usage

The Platform interacts with Pinterest's official API v5 in compliance with Pinterest's Developer Terms of Service. Specifically:

  • We only access Pinterest data required to create and read Pins and Boards on behalf of the authorized account.
  • No Pinterest API response data is cached or stored. Each API call is made fresh at the time of posting. Images are stored locally on our private server prior to posting, not retrieved from Pinterest's servers.
  • OAuth 2.0 access tokens are stored securely and used exclusively to post content on behalf of the authenticated account owner.
  • We do not scrape, aggregate, or redistribute any Pinterest user data.

4. How Scheduling Works (No API Data Caching)

The Platform schedules Pins using an internal queue system that operates as follows:

  • Step 1 — Upload: Staff upload images and configure metadata (title, description, tags, link) directly within the Platform. This content is stored on our private server.
  • Step 2 — Queue: Images are placed in a local pending queue stored in a JSON file on the server. No Pinterest API call is made at this stage.
  • Step 3 — Scheduled Trigger: A background cron job runs at the configured interval (e.g., daily, hourly). When triggered, it reads the pending queue from our local server storage.
  • Step 4 — Live API Call: At the exact moment a Pin is to be posted, the Platform makes a real-time, fresh call to the Pinterest API v5 /pins endpoint. No Pinterest data is read from cache — all data sent to Pinterest originates from our local content.
  • Step 5 — Confirmation: Upon a successful response from Pinterest, the image is marked as "posted" in our local queue and the next image awaits its scheduled time.

This architecture ensures that we never cache, store, or re-serve any data originating from the Pinterest API. All API interactions are write-only (creating Pins) and read-limited (reading board IDs for routing purposes only).

5. Authorized Use Only

Access to this Platform is restricted to Sable Beach Surf Camp staff via a secure master password. Unauthorized access, sharing of credentials, or use of this Platform for any purpose other than managing Sable Beach's official Pinterest content is strictly prohibited.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided as-is for internal use. Sable Beach Surf Camp is not liable for any interruptions in service, Pinterest API downtime, or changes to Pinterest's API policies that may affect the Platform's functionality.
